Meet the Nicely Team

The Nicely home inspection team

Hi!  We are David, Annie, Carl, and Jeff of the Nicely team at Pillar To Post Home Inspector franchise in the Estero/Bonita Springs area of SW Florida BUT we serve all of Lee, Collier, and Charlotte counties.  We chose to be part of the Pillar To Post home inspectors family because of their reputation to be the best.  All Pillar To Post home inspectors must undergo rigorous training and adhere to official and proven procedural guidelines. The culture of our brand is based on honesty, transparency, and good, thorough work.

David graduated from IUP with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.  He has an extensive sales background so he understands the real estate transaction from a realtor’s point of view.  Realtors work hard to get that contract and we’re not here to kill their deal.  We know that a sub-par inspection can impact not only a realtor’s reputation BUT ours as well.  We are cognizant of what we say and how we say it. We never want to be an alarmist.  We know that no house is perfect, but every problem has a solution. Dave’s job is to educate our realtors and their clients, and put any defects we find in proper perspective.

Training & Certification

  • Licensed Florida Home Inspector
  • Certified Pillar to Post Home Inspector
  • FABI (Florida Association of Building Inspectors) member
  • FABI Registered Professional Inspector (RPI)

Annie NicelyAnnie Nicely graduated from Concordia University with a Master’s degree in Computer Science, and has taken many post graduate courses in Computer Science at SIU.  She retired as a professor at Rock Valley College in Rockford Illinois a few years ago.  During her tenure at RVC, Annie also worked as a seminar leader for business and industry.

Annie is our marketing manager and handles all the office details for our business.  She is also the behind the scenes baker of our signature “Maui” cookies and the holiday cupcakes we bring to realtor offices throughout the year.

For David and Annie, life is not all work and no play.  While growing our business is our #1 goal, we also enjoy the Florida sun and its beautiful beaches.  Annie and I enjoy boating, playing golf, pickle-ball, working out, going to the beach, and taking motorcycle rides.  Life is so, so good in SW Florida!  When we aren’t enjoying Florida’s sun, we take advantage of the slow season to travel to other destinations.

Carl Ferguson often takes the role of lead inspector during tandem inspections. He is an integral part of the Nicely Team of Pillar To Post Home Inspectors, proudly inspecting homes in Collier County, Lee County, and Charlotte County.

Prior to becoming a professional home inspector with Pillar To Post Nicely Team, Carl served in the US Army for five years, from which he received an honorable discharge. After his time in the military, he spent 3 years working for the Mecklenburg, NC, County Sheriff’s Dept. as a Direct-Action Response Team leader for corrections officers.

Carl became a home inspector because of his knowledge of construction and mechanics and because he enjoys the freedom of not being in an office or building all day. He is detail-oriented, honest, and a team player, so he fits in perfectly with the Pillar To Post Nicely Team.

He also likes taking Titan and Brandy, his dogs, on long walks.

Jeff FitzpatrickThe Nicely Team of Pillar to Post Home Inspectors would like to introduce the newest member of our team, Jeff Fitzpatrick. Jeff comes to us with experience as an electrical engineer in the power generation field.  He has been shadowing Dave and Carl to learn the Pillar to Post way of conducting home inspections.  He will be flying solo soon but will continue to work with Dave and Carl on larger inspections.

Jeff comes to us with a degree in Electrical engineering and more than 20 years in the Engineering field.  He has also been a handyman over last several years.  He completed his Pillar to Post training and earned his certification as a Pillar to Post Home Inspector on June 22, 2021.  Jeff also earned his license as a Florida home inspector on July 14, 2021.

Jeff and his significant other, Shivanna, have been residents of Fort Myers for many years and recently became parents to a beautiful baby girl. After being on the road for 20+ years, Jeff explored opportunities to spend more time with his family. After doing some research, he realized home inspection would be the perfect field for him to transition into.  The job not only provides the opportunity to spend more time with his family, but it also provides a nice change from the office setting, and an opportunity to use the knowledge he gained as an engineer and handyman in this new career.
He and Shivanna are great people, and we look forward to getting to know them better now that they are part of the Nicely Pillar to Post family. Please be sure to welcome Jeff at the next inspection the Nicely team does for you and your clients.
